First major exhibition of Mel Ramos in London.
In 1961 Ramos emerged on the international art scene along with
Warhol, Lichtenstein and others as part of the pop art movement.
From his early portraits of the great costumed heroes of pre-Code
comic books, Ramos went on to explore the world of the pin-ups
and nudes in men's magazines such as Playboy and Penthouse. The
exhibition celebrated the art and innovative wit of one
of pop art's icons.
