Claire Basler
5 May - 28 May 2005

Claire Basler's paintings of flowers and landscapes are a celebration of nature's beauty, elegance and formidable strength.

Basler studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, yet it was at the Louvre where she found her inspiration, spending many hours observing the masterpieces of the museum’s collections. Here she admired the work of 18th century French artists such as Watteau, which remain to this day a point of reference for her.
