Howard Hodgkin
June – July 2001
An exhibition of paintings and prints by the renowned British artist, Howard Hodgkin.
Howard Hodgkin is best known for his brilliant palette and distinctively bold brushstrokes. The starting point for much of his work is a moment, event or experience, often recalled by Hodgkin years later.
His language of spots, stripes, arcs and blocks of strong colour and his sense of space have evolved slowly, as do his individual paintings, which often take years to complete.
